Fluxspace hosted a podcast station at this year’s Three Rivers Education Technology Conference (TRETC), where teachers, students, administrators, (and even a state senator!) shared their views on the future of education, technology, and the growing role of AI. Everyone seemed to agree that AI can be a powerful tool for brainstorming, saving time on administrative tasks, or just making day‑to‑day work more efficient. One of the biggest takeaways however was that AI should support teaching, not replace the real, meaningful interactions that happen between teachers and students, and it also shouldn’t take away early learning experiences that help students build essential skills.
Across the board, guests stressed the value of strong human connections, hands-on learning, and classrooms that can flex and adapt depending on what’s being taught.
So what was the main message? The future of education depends on adaptability, critical thinking, and using technology thoughtfully and responsibly, making sure not to replace the human side of learning.

“When I hear ‘rewiring learning,’ I think it means bringing the passion and the love back for the action of learning just for the sake of learning.”
